Second Step:
Second Step is the curriculum that is taught in all grade-levels in the San Bernardino City Unified School District. RCPA scholars receive the social and emotional learning lessons in their classroom by Mrs. Mirarchi, the school counselor. Social and Emotional Learning is based on the five core principles: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Relationship Skills, Social Awareness and Responsible Decision Making.
Bullying – RCPA remains committed to protecting students who are harassed, intimidated, or bullied by taking immediate steps to intervene. Honor Patrol:
The Riley College Prep Academy Honor Patrol is composed of 4th and 5th grade scholars who excel academically, demonstrate positive behavior, attend school regularly, and serve as positive role models to scholars on campus. Students participating in Honor Patrol have filled out a job application, included two references, and have participated in a job interview. Honor Patrol students have specific duties on campus, which include, however are not limited to:

Attendance Assistant
Assembly Assistants
PBIS:
Riley College Prep Academy utilizes the PBIS system to address both appropriate and inappropriate behavioral choices. Three main rules guide behavior at RCPA:
Be Safe
Be Responsible
Be Respectful
These three rules can be applied in all of the different locations at the school site: office, cafeteria, classroom, hallway, restroom, playground, etc.

Wellness Center
Riley College Prep Academy has an opportunity to offer health and wellness clinics for our students.
Health Navigator – In partnership with IEHP, we have an onsite Health Navigator who can assist families with any needs, medical or other, they might have.
Hazel Health – Virtual meeting with a doctor without missing school
Dental Screenings – Free dental clinics for designated grade-levels
